Community Supportive Living

Supportive housing is a concept developed under LIFE-NWPA beliefs that the aging process should be filled with comfort, dignity, and meaning. We believe that happens best if one can “age in place” for as long as possible living in the community.

If you’ve ever stayed at a family run bed and breakfast then you can get a sense of what supportive housing may be like. Typically the supportive housing setting is comprised of three people sharing a home “in community,” each with their own bedroom, and sharing community spaces.

Whether it's a few hours of care per week or around-the-clock LIFE-NWPA’s goal is to enable seniors to experience the authenticity and rhythm of life in a real home in the community. When living in one of our strategic supportive housing areas a caregiver may only be a phone call or maybe just a few feet away at all times, providing services.

Supportive housing's goal is to attempt to limit, or maybe eliminate, nursing home stays. Because of this goal, we must provide a variety of services that would be available to the consumer at any typical home—but at a higher standard.

A list of our service offerings may include, but not limited to:

  • Home Management
  • Companionship Services
  • Personal Care
  • Nutritional Care
  • Medication Prompting
  • Urgent Response Home Care and Transportation
  • Respite Care
  • Nursing Home Alternatives

Supportive housing happens by utilizing our well trained staff since LIFE-NWPA, as well as other licensed providers. Whether one chooses to, is not eligible for, or chooses not to, participate in LIFE-NWPA’s LIFE program supportive housing may be available to you.
