LIFE-NWPA, a community-based program providing services to seniors allowing them to remain in the community (versus skilled nursing facility), is seeking a Clinic Assistant.  LIFE (Living Independent for the Elderly), known nationally as PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) provides support services to its elite group of seniors, enabling them to safely live in their own homes.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  • Consult each day with the Clinical and Medical staff on managing the participant flow for the day. Assist in prioritizing the scheduling of participants.
  • Schedule necessary appointments for participants when requested by supervisor for clinic, specialists and outside medical appointments.
  • Document in the medical record as appropriate to scope of practice.
  • Perform any necessary filing or clerical duties necessary to complete charting requirements.
  • Effectively communicates in clinic meetings.
  • Takes vital signs of participants, escorts participants to exam rooms, and prepares participants to be seen in the clinic.
  • Report abnormal findings and changes to the Clinic Supervisor or designee.
  • Assist participants in disrobing, positions participant in bed, chair or exam table and ensures they are ready to see nurses and physicians as appropriate.
  • Perform collection of specimens within scope of practice, as requested by clinical staff.
  • Assist physician and nurses with minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Assists in any medical procedures as requested by staff with training and within scope of practice.
  • Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials and stocks as needed. Prepares list of medical supplies to be ordered.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of exam rooms.
  • Prepare equipment and aids physician and nurses during treatment, examination and testing of participants.
  • Responsible for ensuring all lab specimens are labeled and ready for courier to pick up in a timely manner.
  • Maintain inventory of clinic supplies and puts needed supplies on re-order list. Ensures that necessary supplies are always available.

Employment Requirements:

  • One year of experience working with frail elderly seniors
  • Successful completion of Pennsylvania Criminal History Check and Office of Inspector General check
  • Successful completion of post-offer employment drug screening and physical
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain at employer’s expense


  • Post-Secondary education preferred
  • High School education or equivalent
