Driver/Personal Care Aide (PCA)

Employment type:  Full Time

Shift/Hours:  Monday – Friday, 1st shift
The Center is closed nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  • Transports participants from their home to the Center in company provided vehicle
  • Adheres to all motor vehicle laws
  • Reports problems with vehicles to their supervisor for immediate attention
  • Provides assistance with personal care as needed
  • Interacts with and participates in activities with Participants
  • Assists with breakfast and lunch meal service
  • Accompany Participants to on-site clinic for appointments
  • Provide in-home care services to Participants if the need arises (paid mileage)
  • Document required services on appropriate forms

LIFE-NWPA, a community based program providing services to seniors allowing them to remain in the community (versus skilled nursing facility), is seeking a Driver/Personal Care Aide (PCA) for our Clearfield County, Clearfield, PA location.  LIFE (Living Independent for the Elderly), known nationally as PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) provides support services to its elite group of seniors, enabling them to safely live in their own homes.

Driver/Personal Care Aides work with all staff members as required in carrying out services and activities that meet the needs of individual Participants.  Services include transportation to and from the Center and medical appointments, supervision, personal care, and documentation on appropriate forms. Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Monday – Friday. Please note work hours may fluctuate depending on Participant and business needs, flexibility is required.

Company vans (CDL not required) are provided for transporting participants to and from their home, LIFE-NWPA Center, and medical appointments.

Employment Requirements:

  • Possession of valid Driver’s License for a minimum of 3 years, and access to own vehicle
  • Successful completion of Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, PA DHS Child Abuse Clearance, Office of Inspector General check, and FBI Fingerprinting for Child Protective Services Law
  • Successful completion of post-offer employment drug screening and physical
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain at employer’s expense

  • High School education or equivalent
